The mark belongs to the company Alpi Film OÜ and has received protection for radio and television programmes and publishing services. This powerful name has been given to the real-life series produced by Alpi Film, where the best welders of Estonia compete with each other on the screen.
According to the owners of Alpi Film OÜ and the producers of the programme, Piret and Alar Müürisepp, the idea to broadcast "Rauataltsutajad" had been brewing for a long time. "The idea of bringing craftsmen and industrial sector to the TV screen and mainstream media had been around for a very long time. We also wanted to draw attention to the machinery manufacturing sector and show what is being done in Estonia in the first place," the entrepreneurs explain the reasons behind the birth of the show.
It took the trade mark owners several years to choose the title of their TV show. After all, this is creative work, which entrepreneurs say is a bigger challenge than usual. A variety of options were considered, such as "Rauamehed" ("Iron Men") and "Sädemed" ("Sparkles"), but these did not sound good. The name "Rauataltsutajad" ("Iron Tamers") was proposed by an editor involved in the idea process of the show, and everyone immediately liked it.
The entrepreneurs confirm that the registration of a trade mark is always necessary when it comes to a long-term series or a format developed by themselves: "We have seen situations in the TV landscape where there has been a disagreement between producers and the channel, which has resulted in the producer losing their trade mark. Since "Rauataltsutajad" is a valuable product and many people have been involved in its development process for a very long time, protecting it is important and also logical."
