Jakob and Maarja, the leaders of the company, explain that Ligipääsuke is the first company in Estonia to offer accessibility solutions, testing, and training. “Accessibility means that everyone, regardless of their specific needs, can feel comfortable and at ease. Accessibility can be found, for example, in a building that is accessible to parents with strollers and wheelchair users, or in conference arrangements that allow deaf or hard-of-hearing individuals to participate,” the entrepreneurs elaborate.
“The name Ligipääsuke (untranslatable word game - pääsuke means "sparrow" and is also a diminutive for "accessibility" in Estonian) evokes an image of the joy and freedom of carefree flying under the open sky. When accessibility is good, every person should feel comfortable and free,” say Jakob and Maarja about the choice of their trade mark's name.
Although no one has yet used the name Ligipääsuke without permission, Jakob and Maarja note that the registered trade mark gives them and their clients confidence that whenever Ligipääsuke is mentioned, it will immediately be associated with quality and comprehensive accessibility.
The trade mark provides protection for various consultancy services.
