Tiina Villako, owner of Graatsia OÜ and a family photographer, tells us that the name Fotograatsia was born as a flash of thought in the head of her good friend when they were working together on her first website and sought a name for the domain. She has always liked the playful use of language, Villako says, therefore the name immediately spoke to her.
"For me as a family photographer, Fotograatsia means the authenticity and beauty that can be found in good human relationships. It is also a skill to make the photographed feel relaxed in front of the camera. Then, in fact, every person is photogenic," Villako opens up about the deeper meaning the trade mark bears for her.
Villako says she had never thought about protecting the trade mark until now, because it seemed more like the subject of large and well-known companies - until last summer another photographer used the name Fotograatsia under their photos. Then the entrepreneur learned the startling truth that anyone could use the word freely and at their own discretion.
"The registration of a trade mark gave a reason to look into your heart for a moment and understand how much work has been done and how valuable it really is to me," the photographer explains the drive to register the trade mark.
