Priileib is a café brand offering a wide range of award-winning gluten-free breads and cookies. The products are aimed at diabetics, people with celiac disease, and individuals with gluten and lactose intolerance, as well as those who seek wheat-free alternatives or prefer a healthier diet.
The company's leader and founder, Birgit Paasma, explains that Priileib was born out of a personal need – the fight against diabetes. In an effort to reduce carbohydrate consumption, the idea arose to make grain-free, gluten-free and lactose-free baked goods without added sugar, yet still delicious and nutritious.
According to Paasma, Priileib is a simple but meaningful trade mark. "Prii" means free (from gluten, grains and added sugar), and "leib" (bread) is one of the most important everyday foods for Estonians,” the entrepreneur explains the deeper meaning of the mark.
Regarding the protection of the trade mark, Paasma says that as the brand grows and gains recognition, the trade mark becomes an important business asset. “Protecting Priileib was a logical step because it eliminates the possibility that someone else would use the same name or try to benefit from it. Investors and business partners also value companies whose brands have stronger legal protection. A registered trade mark also opens up future opportunities for franchising or licensing,” the entrepreneur suggests that trade mark registration will offer new business opportunities in the future.
