According to catering entrepreneur Siim Pinnonen, the ÖKU brand was born in 2015, when — after years of working in various restaurants — he came up with the idea of operating a distinctive food truck. Pinnonen says a suitable name and logo for the venture was decided quickly — the creator of the cute owl is tattoo artist Kaspar Kannelmäe.
The entrepreneur shares that on several occasions he had noticed other players in the food service sector using solutions similar to his brand. It was precisely this experience that led him to the firm decision to secure trade mark protection for both the name and the logo.
“Even if a name seems very unique and distinctive, a protected trade mark helps avoid unnecessary unpleasantness in the future,” Pinnonen advises all entrepreneurs.
