Matti Päts' contribution to the appreciation of Estonian industrial property is invaluable. He could be considered the re-founder and first employee of the Estonian Patent Office and was the Director General of the Patent Office from 1992 to 2015. During this time, great effort was put on the creation of the framework of the Estonian industrial property legislation, the accession to international organisations, the formation of a team, the resolution of the administrative issues of our Toompuistee house and much more.
In addition to professional excellence, Matti Päts was also a very good leader, was keen to share his rich life experience and got along well with people. It was an honor to work together with him!
