Today, the winners of the National Contest of Young Inventors were recognized. The recipient of the award from WIPO and Patent Office was just announced – Johannes Amann, a first-grader from Saku Gymnasium, for his invention titled "Mechanic's Gloves with Lighting."

According to Aare Abrams, a Chief Examiner in the Patent Department, this is a highly practical invention that helps anyone who needs to work with both hands in the dark. "It achieves what is considered most important in invention – it is new, distinctive, and solves a significant technical problem," Abrams said.

Tanel Liira, a member of the competition committee, noted that children’s inventions have become more substantial year by year. This year's main themes for inventions were safety, anxiety, awareness, and mental health.

The awards were presented at the PROTO Invention Factory. This year, the National Contest of Young Inventors' ceremony serves as the starting event for the Great Festival of Inventors. Tomorrow, patent expert Reelika Jõema will deliver a presentation titled "Come Learn to Invent Smartly!" See you at the Inventors’ Festival!
