The Office for Harmonization in the Internal Market (Trade Marks and Designs), ('the OHIM'), was established by Council Regulation (EC) No 40/94 of 20 December 1993 on the Community trade mark. The OHIM is responsible for administering Community trade marks and the Community designs, industrial property titles which have a unitary character and equal effect throughout the Community. The OHIM has five working languages, namely Spanish, German, English, French and Italian. Certain proceedings, however, are also carried out in other official languages of the European Community. The OHIM currently employs over 650 people from all the countries of the European Union. The seat of the OHIM is in Alicante, a city on the Spanish Mediterranean coast.

The OHIM is organising a selection procedure for drawing up reserve lists of a maximum of 160 posts (categories A*6 and C*2) from which to recruit administrators and clerks in the following fields: trade mark and design examination, clerical and administrative tasks.

Successful candidates may be offered a contract as a temporary agent (administrators in category A*6, assistants in category C*2) for a minimum of three years, with the possibility of renewal up to a maximum duration of five years. Remuneration will depend on qualifications and family status, but the gross basic monthly salary will be at least 4.311,55 € per month for category A*6 and at least 2.630,96 € per month for category C*2.

The vacancy notices and more information on the selection procedure can be obtained at http://oami.eu.int/en/office/admin/vacan.htm. Applicants must complete the electronic application form which can be found at the above address and send it to the OHIM.

The deadline for submission of applications is 30 June 2004.
