Examination results of the Patent Office have been used in 16 cases under the GPPH project
On July 6, 2015 the Estonian Patent Office (EPA) joined the Global Patent Prosecution Highway (GPPH) pilot program. The project provides an opportunity - at the request of the patent applicant - to use the results of the substantive examination of the patent offices of other countries on the same patent application. This approach may significantly shorten the period for processing a patent application. Based on the latest data, the results of our examiners' work have been used in 16 cases (by US, Russia, Australia, Germany).
27 intellectual property organisations participate in the GPPH pilot program.
