The Estonian Patent Office took part in the opening event of the development of a regional pool of IP commercialization experts of Baltic States

Last week, the opening event for the Baltic States Pilot Project for the Development of a Regional Pool of IP commercialization experts took place in Riga.

 The object of the pilot project is to create a capacity building program for regional selected professionals in order to enable them to develop necessary skills and competences in the area of knowledge transfer and IP commercialization. As a result, a regional pool of IP commercialization experts and a cooperation network between Baltic universities will be established.

 The project will be carried out by WIPO, in collaboration with the IP offices and universities of the Baltic states. Among Estonian universities the Estonian University of Life Sciences, Tallinn University of Applied Sciences, Tallinn University of Technology and University of Tartu will take part in the project. The next workshop will take place in January 2007 in Tallinn.
