Director General of The Estonian Patent Office hands over WIPO award at The Estonian Contest for Young Inventors

Estonian Research Council awards the best competitors of The Estonian Contest for Young Inventors on 10 December in Mektory. The Competition aims to recognize outstanding research results in the field of science and innovation of school students and their instructors.

This year 755 works were filed from 844 authors. Evaluation Committee decides the winners in three age groups. National prizes are handed over by President Toomas Hendrik Ilves.

For the first time World Intellectual Property Organization has set up their own award for this years Contest. The winner of WIPO award was chosen by a committee of patent examiners from The Estonian Patent Office - Anneli Simmul, Erald Talvik and Aare Abrams. Director General of The Estonian Patent Office Mr Margus Viher will hand over the WIPO Award. Nordic Aviation Group, Science Centre AHHAA, Energy Discovery Centre, Royal Danish Embassy in Tallinn, Embassy of The United States and The Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications have also set up their own prizes.
