5,022 decisions on examination were made, out of which 89.4% were decisions on registration.
During the year 1.2% out of the total number of the decisions made (62 decisions) were contested. Disputes are resolved in the independent Industrial Property Board of Appeal at the Ministry of Justice and thereafter in court if needed. Only 27 appeals were resolved, i.e. 0.5% of the total number of the decisions.
The number of valid registrations in the registers of the Estonian Patent Office was 69,282 on 31 December 2013. Besides that, 976, 646 Community trade marks and 676, 922 Community Industrial designs were valid in Estonia.
