Database of Geographical Indications

The database contains information on geographical indications registered and geographical indications registration applications filed in the Republic of Estonia since 10 January 2000 to the extend specified in the Geographical Indication Protection Act. Information on geographical indication registration applications is presented as filed by the applicants.

The numbers of applications contain 10 digits (e.g. G200012345).

Search in the database is free. The user needs a browser supporting JavaScript (Netscape 4.08, Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0 or more recent versions).

The information is updated monthly, on the first day of each month during 6 a.m. to 8 a.m. An image may be missing from the displayed data of the applications received during the last month if the geographical indication has been depicted figuratively.

The database is informative and does not have legal effect. Search results do not ensure the protectability of geographical indications and are not binding on the Estonian Patent Office in processing the geographical indications. For specifying the data and for the release of information or the issue of official extracts from the files of registration applications and of their processing or from the State Register of Geographical Indications, please contact the Receiving Department of the Estonian Patent Office.
